I try not to overly quote from others, but in this instance I had to make an exception.

Sasha Stone, at my awards season oracle AwardsDaily, has- in fact- already seen BUTTER and has a unique aspect on it:

Believe it or not I saw Butter one year ago in Telluride.  The critics there and then mostly panned it. Of course, they maybe couldn’t imagine what was coming next, which is, this bizarre election year. I was one of the few that didn’t hate Butter.  I thought Jennifer Garner was brilliant as the Republican-esque butter sculpting champion who just has to take down the poor young African American sculpting genius. Butter will likely make Republicans throw up a little in their mouths the same way we liberals upchuck at Obama’s America 2016.

Butter was funny to me because once it committed to going over the top it ended up doing just that. Of course, the poker faced crowd were not having any of it.
